The upcoming Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire remakes for 3DS will have a demo available via the eShop, according to the games’ official website. Images from the demo appear to show Mossdeep City, a later area of the game identifiable by its seaside location and Space Center. The demo is said to feature gameplay that will not be seen anywhere else, although it is not clear at this point what that will involve.
This will mark the first time a main series Pokémon game will have received the demo treatment. The series has traditionally been seen as comprising one long adventure with each game, and achievements made in the demo may not carry across to the main game. However, the website also promises that “You can even bring over the reward items that you obtained during your Special Demo Version adventure”.
There is not yet any information on release dates or regions for the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire demo, but further information will be posted as it becomes available.
