The PlayStation 4’s latest survival horror adventure, Until Dawn, has run into trouble with Twitch streamers. Players who broadcast using the PS4’s ‘share’ function are not currently able to archive their streams after Sony Computer Entertainment disabled the option.
An angry response met the announcement, which was posted from Twitch TV’s Twitter account yesterday.
Using PS4 Share to broadcast "Until Dawn"? The publisher has disabled archiving for this game. We're reaching out to hopefully enable. ^JM

However, it seems the lack of archiving was unintentional. In a statement today, Sony Computer Entertainment said:
We are currently working on a fix that will enable archiving of Until Dawn Twitch streams as this feature was unintentionally disabled. We are humbled by the community reception of the game and are excited to see fans sharing experiences on Twitch and YouTube. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide an update as soon as the issue has been resolved.
It does raise the question of why archiving has to be actively enabled by publishers rather than enabled by default, given how many people would want to stream most big releases. But it also seems to confirm that one should seldom attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence.
