Windows 95 Hits New 3DS

Homebrew developers have managed to get the full version of Microsoft’s Windows 95 running on a New Nintendo 3DS. Images posted on homebrew forum GBAtemp show the operating system running on the Nintendo handheld, along with questions answered by the user who posted them, shutterbug2000.

The forum thread also contains a library of files to install the abandoned OS yourself, if you so desire.

The New Nintendo 3DS was released early last year as an update to the ageing 3DS. While not a new system in itself, the New 3DS has extra RAM and a slightly different design when compared to the original 3DS – which as yet can’t run Windows 95.

Have you tried installing Windows on your 3DS. What did you try to run? Was it successful? Let us know in the comments!
