Minecraft: Story Mode will be coming to Wii U, in a first for a game based on the Mojang property.
The developer have announced that the Telltale Games spinoff of Minecraft, arguably the most popular indie game ever, will be coming to Nintendo’s home console (along with almost every other system) towards the end of this year.
The port to Wii U represents the first Mojang property to officially hit a Nintendo system, and also the first expansion to a new system for the property since Minecraft was bought by Microsoft last year for $2.5bn.
The protagonist of Story Mode, Jesse, will be voiced by Patton Oswalt, among many other well-known voice talents. Story Mode, like the rest of Telltale’s games, will be episodic, and react to decisions made by the player in the course of play.
Minecraft: Story Mode will be available on Wii U, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC/Mac, iOS, and Android devices. We can expect to receive regular updates from Telltale Games as the release draws closer.
