Ubisoft Offer Compensation Over Misleading Might and Magic Promotion

Ubisoft are offering refunds to unhappy Might and Magic Heroes 7 customers in the U.S. who believe that they were deceived by the marketing of the collector’s edition for PC.

Many customers bought the edition believing that they would receive a physical copy of the game, as pictures of the package implied.

However, the collector’s edition was never set to come with a physical copy and some didn’t even provide a download code, requiring customers to talk to Ubisoft support in order to receive the game.

Responding to these complaints, Ubisoft are offering full refunds to those who want one and a free PC game from a limited selection.

In a statement, the developer said: “Ubisoft regrets any confusion created by the marketing materials from our Might and Magic Heroes VII Collector’s Edition. We understand that some customers in North America were not aware the Collector’s Edition delivered digital versions of the game and soundtrack. Ubisoft apologizes for any frustration and disappointment resulting from these items being in digital format vs. physical format.”

Refunds are only being given to U.S. customers, the Collector’s Edition in Europe does come with a physical game and soundtrack.

Dissatisfied customers can pick from five titles from the UPlay Store, comprising Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, The Crew, Toy Soldiers: War Chest Hall of Fame Edition and Zombi.
